Dodge WC-53 Owners
I am hoping to build a simple but useful register of Dodge owners in the UK, this page for owners of the Dodge WC-53 in particular. Finding parts for all Dodge trucks, particularly for the more obscure civilian or military variants, is less than easy especially in the UK.
Hopefully if people sign up to this simple WC-53 register (click here to join the Dodge register) it'll help people get in touch with fellow owners of WC-53 Dodges, restored or rusty, to aid their restoration or get advice & help! |

1942 Dodge WC-53 Carryall

I do not know the original history of this vehicle, anyone with any
historical sources of information which might aid me in tracking down the original unit,
division or even branch of service to which the vehicle belonged during WW2
would be most welcome.
The vehicle is fully restored and is a regular attendee to many UK based
Military Vehicle shows.

1942 Dodge WC-53 Carryall

USA number (found on bonnet) 20165890, body number 4249-4217, chassis # 81577831
This truck was purchased in July 1996,and has been under restoration ever since!,it
was only a shell on the frame,axles,wheels & transfer box,with all other parts supplied
to complete the restoration, ( the dealer told me) including a NOS engine block,as the body
was in good order I thought it would be a easy restoration,big mistake,over 8 A4 sheets have
been filled with parts purchased,apart from the transfer box,all other components have
been overhauled, now nearing completion, should be ready for the rally season this year.

restored by 1994 ready for D day +50, it has been owned by me since
importation.
